Gerwin Cash, more commonly known as Captain Cash is a minor character and served as a second-in-command of the Bay Rebels. Gerwin Cash was born in 1970 in the United States of America somewhere on the West Coast.
When Gerwin was 18 years old when he enlisted in the National Coast Guard in San Andreas and was regularly stationed in Cape Catfish, LSIA and many cities in the State of San Andreas. In the early years in the Coast Guard Gerwin met Dave Morrison (more commonly known as Uncle Dave) and they became best friends for many years. However, unlike Dave who got dishonourably discharged Gerwin continued and eventually joined the Navy where he stayed for many years.
Gerwin eventually got the rank of Captain in the US Navy at 31 years old and proudly served the Navy for 10 more years. Cash was sent out to many different countries including Iraq and Syria where he was awarded the Silver Star for saving his squad in 2002. Captain Cash took inspiration from General Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton for their aggressive style of tactics and their focus of discipline and morale.
When Gerwin was 46 years old he was honourably discharged of the US Navy, Cash retired, but his duty never finished. Cash joined the IHA somewhere after his 47th birthday. At the IHA, Cash again became leader of his new squad of former military personnel and became mercenaries for the highest bidder.

[edit | edit source]Going to Paleto Bay
[edit | edit source]When Cash was 54 years old, Uncle Dave secretly contacted (because Dave was dead) Captain Cash about Damian Morrison's situation in Paleto Bay who desperately needed help for protection from the syndicates. Cash saw an opportunity to ‘show everyone who’s boss.’ Captain Cash arrived in drilled Damian in the style of MacArthur and made Damian tougher.
Before Captain Cash joined the Bay Rebels as Damian’s trusted wingman, the Bay Rebels were a weak faction with not a lot of resources. Thanks to the contacts in the IHA, Cash fully used Damian’s financial resources. This includes better personnel, a brand-new bunker for weapon manufacturing in Raton Canyon and the purchase of a submarine by a certain German smuggler. However, Damian and Cash had multiple vision on where to take the Bay Rebels. Where Damian was more appeasing in his approach, Cash wanted a direct vision and a confrontation with the syndicates.
Cash, wanting to get a leverage on Damian contacted Alexa for a meeting near the Raton Canyon Bunker. Cash and Alexa, knowing that the meeting would be overheard were explicitly talking about the $15 million loan that Damian owed Alexa, and that Cash should ‘watch’ Damian (this was after that the syndicates had a falling out with each other).
Assassination attempt on Cash
[edit | edit source]Somewhere after the militarization of the Bay Rebels (in round I), Cash instructing the staff at Raton Canyon Bunker 10 henchman of Jim’s criminal syndicate were sent to assassinate Cash in cold blood. The leader of the henchman sent by Jim was a close friend of Cash and they negotiated that Cash could escape and a decoy would take his place. Cash escaped to Vice City, later he was told that Damian had been sent on a place to Winnipeg, Canada. Cash took the initiative to pay for Damian ticket to Vice City and would later set up a meeting between the two.
Second Paleto Crisis
[edit | edit source]Cash and Damian would return to Los Santos after Giuseppe Marcano would leave for Italy, for the first time. They restored the Bay Rebels and began the active and direct approach that Cash envisioned for the Bay Rebels. The raided supply lines and had multiple skirmishes. Later they destroyed Billy’s farm which resulted in a final confrontation between the Syndicates (excluding Alexa) and the Bay Rebels. With no winner on both sides Cash realised that this was a fight that they could not win. Gerwin was confident that ‘there was a hole in the syndicates armour’ and that their mission was a great success. Cash and Damian decided to leave San Andreas to go to Vice City to start their life again. Gerwin famously said: “It is time to visit an old friend.” This marked the end of the Bay Rebels and Gerwin’s story.
