When asked who the biggest hedonist is, or the biggest (sexual) cheater, it is Marty Marcano. Marty, born in January 2001, is the youngest son of Giuseppe Marcano, founder of the Marcano Crime Family. He is the brother of Lorenzo and Angelo Marcano. Marty is a dual citizen of Italy and the United States (he got his American citizenship later), having spent his early years in Palermo before moving to Liberty City as a teenager. Despite early efforts to avoid the criminal legacy of his father, Marty has since become a notable figure in the San Andreas underworld, known for his hedonistic nature and disruptive influence within major syndicate dynamics.

    Early Life (2000–2017)

Marty Marcano was born in Palermo, Sicily, to Connie Marcano and Giuseppe Marcano. Unlike his older brothers Lorenzo and Angelo, who were groomed to become mob bosses, Marty’s upbringing was meant to be different. Giuseppe, hardened by years in organized crime, hoped to steer his youngest son toward a legitimate life. He envisioned Marty as the one who would earn wealth honestly and give the family a foothold in respectable society.

Marty grew up in the Marcano estate, surrounded by uncles, capos, and bodyguards. The lavish mansion, filled with whispered deals and shadowy figures, was both a playground and a cage. Despite the opulent surroundings, Marty’s day-to-day life was far from carefree. His father and mother were strict disciplinarians who enforced rigid expectations. Rather than indulging in the freedom he thought was granted to his older brothers, Marty was tasked with assisting Connie, his mother in household chores, a responsibility he found degrading and often tried to avoid.

This disparity in treatment sowed early resentment. Marty couldn’t understand why Lorenzo and Angelo were praised while he was reprimanded. While they trained in business, enforcement, and strategy, Marty was expected to scrub tiles, fold linen, and wash cars. He began to find this hypocritical, especially coming from his father, who preached honesty while ruling an empire built on crime.

However, not everyone in the family agreed with Giuseppe’s approach. Marty's uncles, Salvatore and Gianni, encouraged him to explore life at his own pace. They believed in learning through experience rather than discipline. This freedom resonated with Marty, who gravitated especially toward Gianni, forming a strong bond that stood in contrast to the tense relationship he had with his father. Marty and Giuseppe often clashed—Giuseppe would push him to become a great man, while Marty resisted, sparking arguments that usually ended with Giuseppe sternly putting him in his place.

This tension also prompted Marty to spend more time with his uncle Gianni, who lived life more freely—emotionally and sexually. Gianni would often regale Marty with outrageous stories of his youthful escapades, encouraging him to enjoy life on his own terms. Giuseppe absolutely despised this influence, seeing Gianni's liberal values as a threat to the discipline he tried to instill. But for Marty, these moments with Gianni planted the seeds of what would become his hedonistic and sexual active lifestyle later in life.

    Moving to America (2017–2023)

After finishing high school in Palermo, Marty was faced with the question of what came next. School had never been his strong suit—he often skipped homework, slacked off in class, and showed little academic ambition. This disappointed Giuseppe, who still held onto hope that Marty would find his path and make the family proud.

When graduation came, Giuseppe and Connie sat down with Marty to discuss his future. Despite their wealth, Marty's grades weren’t good enough to buy his way into a prestigious university. He surprised them by expressing a desire to become a car mechanic—he had a natural love for customizing cars, calling it his version of creativity and freedom. Giuseppe was unimpressed. In his eyes, it wasn’t a respectable or sustainable career, certainly not something befitting a Marcano.

Giuseppe insisted Marty pursue something more prestigious, and pushed the idea of becoming a doctor. With his grades, university wasn't an option—college would have to do. To mock the suggestion, Marty declared, “Fine, I’ll study nursing. At least I’ll see lots of vaginas,” which enraged Giuseppe.

Realizing they needed to separate Marty from the toxic routine at home, Giuseppe and Connie decided to send him abroad. They arranged for Marty to attend a reputable college in Liberty City in the United States. For them, it was a last-ditch effort to force maturity; for Marty, it was a golden ticket out.

Excited by the idea of living on his own and carving his own path, Marty embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly. Moving to America wasn’t just about academics—it was the beginning of his rebellion becoming independence. Or at least, that’s what he thought.

    Education and career (2017–2023)

Marty’s first semester in America showed promise. He adapted quickly to the language, made friends easily, and even earned decent grades.

However, as time went on, Marty became increasingly absorbed in the American college lifestyle. Frat parties, club nights, and hookups became more important than lectures and assignments. His role as a self-proclaimed nightlife connoisseur quickly grew, with Marty organizing wild college parties and becoming a familiar face in local clubs. While his charisma won him many friends, his academics began to slip.

Giuseppe, hearing of Marty’s exploits, grew furious, but it was too late. Marty had tasted freedom, and he wasn't going back.

It was during his second year that he met Claire, a first-year nursing student who had been accepted at just 15 years old—an exceptional academic feat. Claire, despite her brilliance, was shy and introverted, often isolated from the rest of the students. One afternoon, Marty noticed her having a quiet breakdown during lunch, sitting alone behind the library. On impulse, he approached her and offered comfort.

Their connection was immediate. What started as a comforting gesture turned into friendship, and eventually, a secret relationship. Marty, then 18, found Claire fascinating and deeply empathetic, while Claire looked up to Marty’s confidence and charisma. The age gap sparked controversy when Claire’s parents discovered the relationship, particularly after they learned the two had slept together. Shocked and disapproving, they attempted to intervene, but Claire—despite her youth—defended her relationship with Marty.

In his third year, Marty received a phone call that would change everything. Giuseppe called to inform him that Connie, his mother, had passed away from cancer. Marty, half drunk at a house party, answered the phone and bluntly told his father to fuck off. The call ended in silence, and it deeply saddened Giuseppe.

The next morning, sober and somewhat remorseful, Marty called back—only to coldly reaffirm what his father feared. He told Giuseppe he didn’t care, claiming that Connie and Giuseppe had always favored his brothers. "I’m my own man now," he said, and hung up. That moment marked the final fracture. Marty cut off contact with his father entirely.

Despite falling behind on some courses and clashing with faculty, Marty managed to recover just enough to finish his degree in 2021, but it wasn't with honours.

After graduation, Marty moved to the city of Los Santos, cutting a clean break from his past. Though Giuseppe made several attempts to contact him, Marty ignored them all.

Claire stayed in Liberty City to continue her studies. Despite the distance, they stayed in contact, though the relationship became increasingly one-sided. Claire remained emotionally invested, hoping they would reunite seriously someday. Marty, however, treated the relationship casually—occasionally driving to Liberty City just to sleep with her. While Claire viewed him as a significant part of her life, for Marty, the connection was more about convenience than commitment.

In Los Santos, Marty took up a job at the Pillbox Hill Medical Center, working as a nurse. Initially, his career flourished. Patients liked him, and he seemed committed, even if he never pursued a full university degree. With his earnings, he secured a small apartment and bought a Bravado Youga Classic, which he converted into an RV to sleep in during long shifts.

However, Marty’s self-indulgent side quickly returned. One night during a late shift, he and a nurse named Shayla Dingleberry got intimate in a storage closet. The encounter was cut short when their manager walked in on them. Both were fired on the spot.

Unable to pay his bills, Marty was forced to sell his apartment. With nowhere else to go, he took up permanent residence in his van. His once-promising start in Los Santos had crumbled. For the next year, Marty lived out of his RV, roaming the streets and scraping by, a self-made exile at rock bottom.

Reunion with Giuseppe and McBardigael Construction (2024)

In early 2024, fate dealt an unexpected card. While driving his RV through Del Perro, Marty spotted a familiar figure on the sidewalk—his father, Giuseppe Marcano, standing with a man Marty didn’t recognize at the time (Edward McHaggis). Surprised and unsure, Marty pulled over and approached them. Giuseppe, stunned to see his youngest son after years of silence, was overcome with emotion. Marty, ever casual, greeted him like it hadn’t been years.

After the initial shock wore off, Giuseppe invited Marty up to his apartment in the Del Perro Tower. The moment marked the beginning of Marty being slowly pulled back into his father's world. Inside the apartment, Giuseppe introduced him to Edward McHaggis, an old friend (who Giuseppe mentored in the Cosa Nostra) and powerful figure in the Los Santos criminal landscape.

What began as a personal reunion would soon evolve into something much deeper—a re-entry into the Marcano legacy, whether Marty was ready for it or not.

Shortly after the reunion, Giuseppe asked Edward if he could mentor Marty in the business. Edward, however, declined—unimpressed by Marty's past or attitude. Still wanting to give his son a path forward, Giuseppe and Edward quietly contacted Billy McBardigael behind Marty's back. Billy, who was in need of reliable hands for his growing construction and property management company, agreed to take Marty on.

The next morning at 06:00 sharp, Marty began his first day on-site, in the basement of a nightclub in Elysian Island. Though frustrated and demotivated at first, he begrudgingly followed orders. But over time, something unexpected happened: Marty grew genuinely interested in the work. The structure, discipline, and hands-on nature of construction appealed to him more than any classroom ever had. And more importantly, he found something in Billy that he hadn't found in Giuseppe—a rough-edged honesty.

Billy’s straightforward, no-nonsense personality resonated with Marty. The two formed a bond, and Marty gradually began to see Billy as the father figure he never quite had. He jokingly started calling him his “adopted father,” a nickname that stuck. Giuseppe, upon hearing this, was quietly furious. In private, he would later call it the biggest mistake he ever made—handing his son off to another man.

Not long after, Giuseppe made his move to take over Paleto Bay in his characteristic criminal fashion. With territory to claim and influence to assert, he called upon Marty to assist him in establishing the Marcano Mob in the northern town. Marty agreed and began working part-time for Billy while helping his father in Paleto Bay—a compromise Billy didn’t mind, trusting Marty to balance the work.

To support the move, Giuseppe provided Marty with a substantial amount of money to purchase a home in Paleto Bay. However, Giuseppe was disappointed to discover that Marty had used the funds to buy a two-story garage unit instead of a traditional house. Marty transformed the upper floor into a bar space, designed for biker parties. For Marty, it was a dream setup. For Giuseppe, it was yet another symbol of Marty’s failure to take things seriously.

Marty's involvement in the Marcano Mob

After settling into Paleto Bay, Giuseppe handed Marty his first real test. Due to conflicting obligations, Giuseppe asked Marty to attend a syndicate meeting in Hawick on his behalf. The request was simple—Marty only had to give an update on the situation in Paleto Bay.

Despite not fully understanding the gravity of the situation, Marty agreed. When he arrived at the meeting location, Edward McHaggis greeted him and escorted him inside. Marty looked completely out of place—under-dressed and sporting choppy, uncouth hair. Inside, Billy was already seated at the meeting table. The last to arrive was a striking blonde woman, around Marty’s age. This was Alexa Morrison.

The moment she walked in, Marty was awestruck—though he tried to keep his cool, he was clearly taken by her presence. During the meeting, he gave his update on Paleto Bay while Alexa largely ignored him, seeing him as just another family envoy of Giuseppe. After the meeting, as the others were leaving, Marty leaned toward Edward and said with a smirk, "One day, she will be mine." Amused, Edward replied that if he managed it, he’d give him $20,000.

Roughly a week later, fate struck again. Giuseppe was arrested by police and subsequently deported due to visa issues. On the same day, Marty was pulled over for speeding, and to his surprise, the arresting officer revealed himself as Shayla Dingleberry’s father. The confrontation was tense. However, Officer Dingleberry ultimately let Marty go, acknowledging that he “probably changed.”

Shaken but free, Marty returned home only to find his father not there. He called his father. Giuseppe, speaking from Italy who informed him he was deported and told him that until he returned, Marty would be responsible for overseeing operations in Paleto Bay. Whether ready or not, Marty had just inherited the reins of the Marcano Mob’s northern expansion.

First relationship with Alexa & the Fooliganz (Fooligans)

With Giuseppe deported, Marty now bore the full weight of responsibility for the Marcano Mob's operations. That included representing the family in syndicate business meetings—an environment he had once stumbled through awkwardly. But during the next gathering, something shifted: Alexa Morrison actually took notice of him.

After the meeting, Alexa invited Marty and his visiting uncle, Gianni (Giovanni), to her penthouse for drinks. Gianni had come to Los Santos to assist Giuseppe upon his eventual return, and Marty was eager to introduce him. The atmosphere was light and attracting, and after Gianni left, the sexual tension between Marty and Alexa grew undeniable.

Later that night, the two drove—still buzzing from the drinks—to Alexa’s home in Vinewood Hills. There, away from the politics and pressures of the city, their connection intensified, culminating in them sleeping together for the first time. For Alexa, it wasn’t entirely planned, but it wasn’t an accident either. Keeping Marty close meant she could subtly influence operations in Paleto Bay. Strategically, it made sense. For Marty, it was just another night to 'dump his load'—but the perks were undeniable.

Their encounter sparked a secret relationship. In the days that followed, they grew closer behind closed doors. Alexa, keeping things quiet, arranged for Marty to be moved into a high-end apartment in Eclipse Towers—a gesture that came with both comfort and strings. Marty, of course, welcomed the upgrade, thinking little of the political dynamics at play. He was in too deep to care—and too distracted by the attention he’d longed for since their first meeting.

Marty, however, cared little for his father’s businesses. With his guard down, the Bay Rebels—once driven out—began regaining territory in the region, reclaiming most of Paleto Bay except for the Raton Canyon Bunker. Marty didn’t resist. Instead, he began seeking new connections in the city, distancing himself from the expectations of the Marcano legacy.

It was during this time that he came into contact with the Fooliganz, a wild, drug-dealing gang entrenched in the Juggalo subculture. Their free-spirited, anti-establishment lifestyle immediately appealed to Marty. He started helping them out with small tasks and drug runs.

One day, after successfully stealing a Brickade 6x6 with the Fooliganz, they told Marty he could keep it. He converted the vehicle into a mobile Acid Lab, allowing him to begin producing and distributing acid across the state. He dubbed it the “construction truck,” often driving it to Billy’s sites under the guise of work. The acid lab was in terms of criminal activity minor and insignificant, but it was Marty's way of staying afload during tough times.

At the Fooliganz’ base of operations, the Freakshop—Marty met Morgan, a spaced-out drug addict and core Fooligan member. The two hit it off instantly. Marty saw in Morgan a kindred spirit, someone who didn’t judge or demand expectations. Their chaotic friendship became a new constant in Marty’s unraveling but oddly freeing lifestyle.
