Chapter III: Shifting Tides
Rise of the Marcano Mob
A week later, Giuseppe received word from his brother, Giovanni (Gianni), about an upcoming visit to Los Santos. Gianni had booked a ticket from Sicily and planned to arrive soon. Upon landing at the airport, Gianni contacted Marty to inform him of his arrival. Marty extended an invitation to Gianni to visit his newly acquired house. Gianni brought Giuseppe along, much to Marty's disappointment, as he had no desire to see his father.
Upon arrival, Giuseppe was shocked to find Marty residing in a penthouse at the Diamond Casino, extravagantly decorated with bright, party-themed colors. The penthouse was in poor condition, littered with wine stains, takeaway bags, and empty pizza boxes. The presence of pizza Hawaii was a significant disappointment for Giuseppe. Giuseppe expressed his disappointment with the poor condition of the penthouse and prompted Marty to call the cleaning service, which he refused. Marty himself appeared markedly changed, adopting a stylish appearance with fresh, expensive clothing. He welcomed his family and offered them drinks to start with.
Gianni, still seeking a temporary residence, accepted Marty's offer to stay in a spare bedroom at the penthouse. During his time in Los Santos, Gianni visited Marco, a barber at the Diamond Casino with whom he shared a complicated sexual relationship. Soon after, Gianni purchased a house in the hills at 3655 Wild Oats Drive, marking a seemingly hopeful period for the family.
However, during a subsequent visit to Marty's penthouse, the atmosphere was notably tense. When questioned, Marty attributed his stress to challenges in his construction business. To relieve the tension, Giuseppe, Marty, and Gianni embarked on a road trip to Paleto Bay, a location where Giuseppe had previously established his businesses. On their way, the trio was ambushed by masked mercenaries. Despite the attack, they narrowly escaped and returned to Los Santos.
The following day, Marty revealed the source of his troubles: he had taken a loan from Milbanks, a bank infamous for financing wars and conflicts. He explained that failure to repay the loan would result in relentless pursuit by the bank. Giuseppe, leveraging his influence and contacts, reached out to Milbanks. He successfully negotiated a halt to the attacks on Marty, vouching for him and promising repayment of the debt.
As a result, Marty was forced to rent his penthouse to the bank to amass the necessary funds. The family relocated to Paleto Bay, where Giuseppe began reestablishing a business to address the debt. The modest lifestyle proved challenging for Marty, who deteriorated both physically and mentally, succumbing to old habits, including a porn addiction, watching tapes he secretly recorded of himself and Claire having pleasure, while jerking off. Disturbed by Marty's decline, Gianni stepped in to motivate him to focus on paying off the debt. Together, they devised a plan, with Giuseppe’s expertise, to rob the Diamond Casino and Resort. Marty's improvement coincided with their preparations for the heist. In the meantime, Giuseppe’s brother, Salvatore, reached out to express his desire to reunite with his siblings after years of estrangement caused by his severe alcohol addiction.
On December 2, 2024, the Marcano Mob (excluding Salvatore) executed the Diamond Casino Heist with an estimated take of $5.600.000. After the conclusion of the heist Gianni opened a nightclub in Vespucci Beach named Paradise. Thanks to the heist Marty paid his debt to Milbanks and he returned to his penthouse. To the disappointment of the rest of the family Marty’s behavior worsened due to the ‘rich’ lifestyle it gave Marty. In secret, Giuseppe called the bank to seize the penthouse again and put it on his name. Within two days Giuseppe and Gianni announced to Marty that they seized the penthouse. Marty’s relationship with the family deteriorated, especially his father.
Marty, feeling betrayed by his father and desperate for cash, returned to his old habits and moved from Paleto Bay to live in a bar in Pillbox Hill. Around this time, Alexa discovered a ‘worn’ Marty when she was visiting Premium Deluxe Motorsport. Seeing opportunity in the situation, she helped Marty by getting some cash together by robbing the Casino yet again and selling some narcotics. On December 10, 2024, Marty bought himself a garment factory in La Mesa, formerly owned by the Darnell Brothers. Giuseppe and Gianni visited Marty at his new ‘crib’ where Marty explained that Alexa helped him get the money together. This angered the normally calm Giuseppe who stormed out the garment factory learning about Alexa’s involvement.
In the afternoon at Paradise, Giuseppe calmed down while having a drink with Gianni. Giuseppe, expressing his concern that Alexa would manipulate Marty into leaving the family behind and worsening the already tense relationship. In the evening Giuseppe and Gianni visited Marty at Pillbox Hill where Giuseppe apologized for his tense behavior and explained his concern. Marty shrugged it off saying that it was not a big deal.

On 15 December 2024, Giuseppe informed Gianni about the Clucking Bell Factory in Paleto Bay, run by the Latin American Cartel named the Clucking Bell Cartel. Giuseppe explained that the Cartel was undermining his business and was some good money to earn. To restore some kind of relationship with Marty he invited Marty to help Giuseppe with the problem. The next day, the Marcano Mob attacked the factory seizing a large part of cocaine and selling it later.
After the attack, Gianni visited Marty in his house in Pillbox Hill. Marty informed that he was dating Alexa for two weeks now and implying that she approached Marty about it. Gianni texted Giuseppe who came straight over to Marty. Marty, already drunk walked away from the laptop in his office. Curious about the laptop, Gianni and Giuseppe logged in and found a horrifying number of images and videos of Marty with Claire ‘doing things.’ They also found a naked photoshopped image of Alexa, which Gianni sent to Edward for ‘blackmail’. Giuseppe tried to talk to Marty about why he was dating Alexa again. Marty, due to his drunkenness, could not respond. Giuseppe suspects that Marty approached Alexa instead of the other way around because of the vast amounts of wealth Alexa possessed. On 25 December, the family celebrated Christmas at Giuseppes house in the hills. While Giuseppe continued to govern Paleto Bay, Giovanni continued with his nightclub. The Marcano Mob had grown.
Return of the Smuggler
On 3 March 2025, an unregistered B-11 Strikeforce landed at Sandy Shores Airfield with no other than infamous smuggler Hans Naumann who returned for a client in San Andreas. Two days later, Hans bought the McKenzie Field Hangar in Grapeseed where he started his arms trafficking business and also resumed the smuggling of narcotics into Los Santos. Hans set eyes on a brand-new Titan 250-D, a weaponized cargo plane from Eberhard Munitions. Carefully planning the operation with the Sanchez Cartel, he stole the plane and claimed it for himself. With Hans continuing his smuggling operations the drug prices in Los Santos dropped steadily.
In the meantime, Hans temporarily employed Marty and his friend Morgan into H.K.R.N without the syndicates' knowledge. With employment, Hans continued Marty's flying lessons who in return helped him source narcotics into the hangar.
Two days later, Alexa called Jim distressed and asked him to meet on the yacht. When Jim arrived Alexa played an audio tape that she received from an unknown courier. Here they heard a mysterious man known as the Phantom had kidnapped Marty and made him be tortured. Alexa insisted that Jim (and Edward) helped her figure out where Marty is and to rescue him. Jim reluctantly agreed, still bitter that Marty damaged his house.
Five days later, the syndicates started noticing worsening drug sales. After Jim and Edward got a clue from Alexa that there is a growing power in Grapeseed, at McKenzie Airfield. Jim and Edward initially thought that this growing power was the Alamo Hellraisers, but they couldn’t confirm anything so far. After arriving with Jims Terrorbyte, Edward launched a drone to observe the place. Edward was shocked to see Hans Naumann working on his Duster 300H. Jim didn’t hesitate a moment and got out of the truck to go after Naumann, shooting at his airplane, but Hans got in the air in-time to escape them. Jim immediately called Alexa, telling her Hans was back in San Andreas, despite his warning. Alexa was worried where Marty was and suspected that Hans had something to do with it.
Three days later, Jim and Edward continued the pursuit to find Hans. They both went back to McKenzie. However, when they arrived Edward noticed a large weaponized cargo plane on the radar. Using the rockets on the Terrorbyte they attacked Hans, while he shot back with a large 40mm gun. Sustaining damage, Hans retreated back to Fort Zancudo. Later a B-11 Strikeforce attacked Jim and Edward who suspected that it was Hans flying in the plane. After going back and forth it into the Alamo Sea. Jim and Edward getting out revealed one of Hans his goons. Holding him at gunpoint, the man revealed that he works for Hans. After some threatening from Jim and Edward in order to reveal more information about why Hans was back in San Andreas and where Marty was, the goon took his own life. Afterwards Jim called Alexa to inform her what had happened and that they were attacked. Alexa suggested that Jim contacted Giuseppe to tell him that Marty was kidnapped. After the call with Alexa, Jim called Giuseppe and told him about the situation. Giuseppe, angry that Hans took his son promised to help them Marty back and deal with Hans however they saw fit.
Five days after the encounter, Hans made the biggest smuggling deal in San Andreas history, netting him millions and dropped the prices of narcotics to an all-time low. He secretly did this in collaboration with Edward who needed money for his second “revolution”. On 30 March, Hans secretly met Edward at Thomson Scrapyard in the Grand Senora Desert in the early morning. Here Edward promised to spare Hans's life while Hans would supply Edward weapon and supplies for his revolution, as a “thank you”. A few hours after their secret meeting Alexa tracked Hans who was visiting the Observatory. Immediately, Alexa called Jim (who contacted Edward) who quickly drove to the Observatory to confront Hans.
At 16:00, Jim and Edward confronted Hans who already expected them to show up. Jim pointing his WM 29 pistol against Hans who did the same. Hans said that he had an ace in the hole. The ace in the hole was Marty, who was “safe” with his employer. Jim, itching to shoot Hans slowly moved his finger to the trigger. Unexpectedly, Edward pointed his gun at Jim, saying that Hans should be kept alive because they agreed to a weapon deal. Jim, disillusioned by the revelation immediately thought back to the first encounter he had with Hans. Hans, smirking and silently laughing mentioned that “Even your best friends are not really your friends” and Edward helped him with the smuggling sale. Hans also said that the conflict between Jim and Hans was over, and that Jim should bury the hatchet after nine years. Hans, continuing smiling left for the stairs behind him where a motorcycle was conveniently parked drove from a hill and unto the street leaving the Observatory.

In the aftermath, a disillusioned Jim asked Edward why he made the deal with Hans. Edward responded that he desperately needed money and weapon for his “revolution”. Jim disappointed and frustrated in Edward, told him that he damaged his trust. Jim proceeded to drive to his home on Sustancia Road where he started drinking excessive amounts of whiskey to battle his guilt, becoming drunk and pondering about his life choices. Jim realised he would never get the chance of avenge the death of wife. Jim wandered in his thoughts the entire night, asking himself “Was this Edwards plan all along? What if I pulled the trigger?”. In the early morning, the doorbell rang, where Alexa was standing in front of the door. Jim, looking miserable let Alexa in, who immediately jumped to business by asking if Hans was dead. Jim said Hans was alive, that Marty was still in captivity with Hans’s boss and that Edward had “betrayed” him for an arms deal. This stunned Alexa, but it didn’t surprise her at all. She was more worried about Marty, his safety and what would happen next. In Jims bad state, he walked back to the counter to grab a bottle of whiskey, which triggered Alexa to call him out to get over the loss before leaving for her office. In the late evening, the large Titan 250-D left for the East Coast marking an end to the storyline of Hans and the Return of the Smuggler, thus beginning the Yakuza Resurgence.
The Yakuza Resurgence
On 2 April, the Yakuza on the coast of San Andreas with a submarine near Chumash after a one month journey on the Pacific. On the boat there were three notable individuals. First Yorinobu, captain of the submarine and de-facto leader of the Yakuza Expedition. Second was Yue, the quiet Yakuza member who had been in Los Santos in the “second round.” Last was Ryōma, young, eccentric and enthusiastic member of the expedition who intelligence is questionable.
The Yakuza’s operation was to weaken the syndicates and to finally deal with Edward. The three of them disembarked the submarine at midnight and got into a Kuruma Armoured to explore the city. Yue, already familiar with Los Santos showed them notable places of interest for their operation including the locations of Jim’s house and arcade, Edward’s arcade, clubhouse and auto shop, Yue’s office, Maze Bank Tower (where Alexa holds office) and the Diamond Casino. During the ride, Ryōma asked “dumb” questions that were met with irritation from Yue and especially Yorinobu.
After sightseeing, they went to the Yellowjack for some drinks. Afterwards, Yorinubo wanted to look at Sandy Shores and a bunker in Raton Canyon (which belonged to Giuseppe). Afterwards, they went their separate ways to wait for orders from Kensuke, the Oyabun of the Yakuza.
Five days after, Ryōma and Yorinobu went back to the submarine to meet Kensuke for orders. After waiting for two hours longer, Kensuke finally showed up. Kensuke instructed that they all focus on the syndicates, as they were the “bigger threat”. Yorinobu disagreed and told them that Edward was weak at the moment and that they should deal with him right now, Ryoma agreed with Yorinobu. Kensuke said that they did not know the location of Edward at the moment and that they should not underestimate Edward. After a conversation full of discussion, Kensuke left with Yorinobu and Ryōma wanting still to go after Edward. After Kensuke left, Yorinobu said with his raw voice to Ryōma that Kensuke still “loved” Edward.
After the meeting they went to the office of Manta Trading & Exports where Yue was working. Here they discussed that Yue should focus on Alexa and Jim. Two days later, Yue located that Jim was at the Yellowjack. When Yue arrived, Jim had car trouble with his Übermacht Sentinel. Sensing opportunity, she went to help Jim under the guise Yeorum, a Korean who just arrived in San Andreas. “Yeorum” helped Jim fixes his car while installing a tracker. Jim, who already was suspicious played along and invited "Yeorum” to help with some work at the auto shop the next day. After Jim left the Yellowjack, Yue called Yorinobu about the news. Yorinobu knew that there wasn’t any good progress told Yue that he and Ryōma went after Edward, because he was weak. Yue said to Yorinobu that he was denying an order from Kensuke, Yorinobu didn’t care and said that she should call if she knew where Edward was.
At the auto shop, “Yeorum” helped Jim with driving two vehicles to client. Jim, being the nice guy told her about his personal life (like his upbringing with the Hendersons, the jobs he had and how he met his dead wife) and his legal businesses. Afterwards they went here separate ways. Now Yue wanted to find out about Alexa’s business dealing, so she arranged a meeting with her boss and Alexa at the Manta office. When Alexa arrived and heard that Yue’s boss wasn’t there, Alexa was pissed and asked Yue who again went under the name of “Yeorum” where her boss was. “Yeorum” said that she could speak on her behalf. Alexa, already suspicious said that the deal that was to be discussed was off. Alexa already feeling in a bad mood accused “Yeorum” of stinking like the sea, that Manta only hired foreigners because there cheap and that this isn’t how corporate America works. Alexa left, with Yue realising that Alexa was not something she could gain information from.
A week later, Yorinobu was growing impatient with the lack of progress. In his eyes, Yue was more obsessed with getting closer to Jim than fulfilling her actual mission, which was to gather intel to destabilize the syndicates. He was frustrated that she had become more interested in infiltrating Jim’s personal life—something far easier than trying to get close to Alexa, who was far more cautious and inaccessible.
Yorinobu called Yue to demand an update, specifically asking about Edward, despite it the fact that it wasn't their primary objective. Yue responded that it wasn’t her assignment, and that Kensuke had not tasked her with investigating Edward. Unsatisfied with her answer, Yorinobu decided to take matters into his own hands. He ordered Ryōma to accompany him in an attempt to track Edward down and handle the "less important matter" himself.
By sheer coincidence, they spotted Edward driving a brown Corvette near Strawberry, heading north toward the highway to Sandy Shores. Yorinobu and Ryōma gave chase in their black Karin Previon, maintaining distance to avoid detection. However, Edward soon lost them on the highway, vanishing into the desert roads.
Refusing to give up, Ryoma prompted they'd head to Paleto Bay, hoping Edward had gone there. They searched several locations in the area—including Procopio Drive and the pier—but found nothing. Frustrated and empty-handed, the two decided to sleep in their car for the night near the Great Ocean Highway, waiting until there was sunlight outside. As the morning came and the fog began to clear, they returned to Los Santos—defeated, cold, and quiet—but unwilling to give up. They continued their search the next morning and made their way to Grapeseed, specifically McKenzie Airfield. There, they attempted to acquire an old airplane left behind by a certain German smuggler. Ryōma, however, was confused by the decision, unable to understand why they were using a relic tied to someone so controversial. Yorinobu ignored his confusion, focused only on finding Edward, no matter the cost.
They flew the plane in loops around Paleto Bay, Sandy Shores, and Grapeseed, scanning highways and backroads for any sign of Edward. After nearly an hour of aimless circling, Ryōma suddenly asked if they could fly out toward the lighthouse near the coast. Yorinobu, initially annoyed by the childish suggestion, eventually gave in.
In another stroke of coincidence, they spotted the brown Corvette parked beside a weathered trail near the cliffside. Yorinobu, alarmed, immediately turned the plane back and landed in haste at McKenzie Airfield. But when they reached the parking area, they were shocked to discover that their black Karin Previon had been impounded and was gone. Ryōma offered to drive his anime-themed car, beaming with pride, but Yorinobu erupted with fury, berating him for his incompetence and childishness. After several minutes of arguing and failed attempts to call a taxi, Yorinobu stormed into the road and pulled a random driver out of a Dundreary Regina. Without hesitation, he began kicking the man brutally, shouting obscenities and leaving the man bleeding from his head.
Ryōma, disturbed by the violence, intervened just in time to prevent the man from dying. His restraint only fueled Yorinobu’s anger, but the two eventually climbed into the stolen car. Ryōma took the wheel, much to Yorinobu’s dismay, and they drove toward the lighthouse. They arrived at a small house for sale perched near the coast, its paint peeling and the surrounding area eerily quiet. As they pulled up, Edward emerged from the house, clearly expecting them. Guns were immediately drawn—both Yorinobu and Ryōma pulled pistols, while Edward levelled a railgun in response.
The three stood in a tense standoff until voices finally broke the silence. After a barrage of accusations and brief arguing, all three slowly lowered their weapons. But before the moment could settle, Ryōma blurted out the truth: they had Marty. Yorinobu froze in place. It was the one detail he had warned Ryōma not to mention. Trying to recover control, Yorinobu quickly shifted tone, offering Edward a deal: assist the Yakuza in a forthcoming operation and, in return, he would be granted complete freedom—no more hunts, no more ties, no loose ends.
Edward gave a tired look, unimpressed. He simply said he’d think about it and turned away, leaving without another word. Bound by Yorinobu’s earlier command not to shoot Edward unless provoked, the Yakuza duo stood still and watched him go. Yorinobu’s fists were clenched in quiet rage, while Ryōma just stood awkwardly, not fully grasping the damage he had just done. As Edward walked down the dirt path back toward his Corvette, he pulled out his phone and called Jim. "Two Yakuza goofs just approached me," Edward said flatly. "Tried to make a deal."
There was a pause on the other end before Jim responded, clearly unimpressed. The call remained stiff and uncomfortable, overshadowed by the unresolved tension between them—especially after Edward's actions at the observatory. Edward coldly stated, "It’s your problem now. Not mine. I’m done with all of it, ha" Jim, trying to salvage something from the conversation, asked if Edward could at least pretend to cooperate with the Yakuza's offer. Edward’s answer was vague, indirect, and left Jim confused. With nothing resolved, the call ended abruptly, leaving their already fragile connection further strained. Little progress was made. The call only confirmed what Jim had long feared Edward was no longer part of the syndicate, and maybe never would be again.
As another week passed with no further development, Yorinobu grew more agitated. After calling Yue again and demanding intel on Edward, she repeated that she had nothing to give him. Behind his back, Yue and Ryōma met secretly at the Manta Trading & Exports office. Ryōma, clearly disillusioned, confided his doubts about Yorinobu’s leadership and questioned his loyalty to the mission. He expressed concern that Yorinobu had deviated from Kensuke's orders. Yue responded with resignation—Kensuke was in Japan, and Yorinobu was still in contact with him. There was little they could do.
Three days later, Ryōma received a call from Yorinobu. Yorinobu claimed to have found a hidden stash location belonging to Edward—supposedly a hideaway filled with weapons, valuables, and possibly Edward himself. He told Ryōma to meet him at the Karin Previon, which had been recovered. To Ryōma’s confusion, their drive ended at the old mine deep in the hills. When Ryōma questioned the location, Yorinobu told him not to worry.
The entrance was sealed, but Yorinobu managed to open it. The two ventured into the dark, flashlight in hand, walking deeper into the mine. At the end—nothing but a dead end. Ryōma turned around to ask a question but froze when he saw Yorinobu pointing a pistol at him. "You are ruining it for us all," Yorinobu said coldly. "I will tell your mom what happened." Without hesitation, Yorinobu pulled the trigger, executing Ryōma with a shot to the head but he could even say the word. The body was left deep in the abandoned mine—never to be found again.
After the cold-blooded murder, Yorinobu called Yue. Calmly, he informed her that Ryōma had been killed in an ambush, blaming Edward. Yue, immediately suspicious, told Yorinobu this wasn’t their mission and that he should’ve stuck to Kensuke’s orders. Yorinobu exploded in anger, lashing out and accusing Yue of being too focused on "chasing the cowboy's dick" instead of doing anything useful. Still, he ended the call with an unnervingly polite tone. For Yue, that was the final confirmationYorinobu was no longer loyal to the Yakuza or the mission. He was only loyal to himself and his own ideals.
During the phone call, Jim paid a visit to Giuseppe at the Giuseppe & Co headquarters in Rockford Hills. Giuseppe, worried about Marty's kidnapping, sought Jim's advice and vice versa. Jim shared what he knew about the situation & what Edward had told him—about the offer from the Yakuza, and how the syndicates were slowly being boxed in. Giuseppe took the opportunity to express his disappointment in Edward. He described Edward’s disloyalty since Edward's failed revolution in Scotland and lamented how someone he had mentored had turned into such a fractured, emotionless and ruthless figure. The two men bonded over their shared frustrations and agreed to keep one another updated. Jim ended the conversation by telling Giuseppe he had a plan to speak with the Korean girl—"Yeorum"—who he strongly suspected was someone else entirely. Giuseppe agreed, and Jim left the office to prepare for the conversation. That same evening, events began to unfold.
Yue was in a state of panic. She didn’t know what to do. Yorinobu still held the loyalty of most Yakuza personnel in the city, and if she acted against him, she could be next. After a long period of hesitation, she made a choice. During the late evening, she made her way to Jim’s house, a location she had memorized from her first stint in Los Santos—specifically, during the break-in where she had stolen his underwear.
Standing nervously outside his front door, Yue hesitated before finally knocking. Jim opened the door, immediately sensing her distress from her expression. Without a word, he let her in.
Inside, Yue confessed everything: the Yakuza mission, Ryōma’s murder, her doubts, and her fear. Jim, though visibly shocked, remained calm. He sympathized with her. "Don’t worry, Yeorum," he told her. "You’re safe here. But you need to be honest with me from now on. No more secrets." Moved by his words, Yue nodded and revealed that the Yakuza submarine was docked off the coast near Chumash. Jim processed the information quickly, realizing this could be the leverage they needed. He told Yue that he’d take it to Alexa and devise a plan. Just as Yue was about to leave, Jim stopped her. "What is your name?" She hesitated, then answered quietly, "Yue."
Later that night, Jim called Alexa and informed her about Yue’s confession. The next morning, he headed to the Maze Bank Tower and met with Alexa in her office. Alexa, though pleased with the intel, immediately instructed Jim to kill Yue. In her eyes, Yue had worked against them before, and trust could not be regained. Jim firmly refused. He defended Yue’s decision to turn against the Yakuza and argued that her information was too valuable. Alexa, furious, snapped back. "Is this because she spread her legs for you?" she barked, interpreting his stance and his code as weakness. A heated discussion followed. Jim reminded Alexa that he had always been loyal to her—that he had been her most reliable ally while others had betrayed her or fallen apart. After several tense moments, Alexa relented but made her stance clear: "I never want to see that whore ever again. If I do, she’s dead."
The two then shifted focus and crafted a strategy to raid the submarine. Alexa, maintaining control, made one thing crystal clear: she, not Giuseppe, would be the one to save Marty. Jim nodded and left the office, fully aware that the final confrontation with the Yakuza was now inevitable. The weight of that reality settled over him like a storm brewing on the horizon.
About a week later, after tracking Yorinobu’s movements near Chumash, Jim called Alexa with urgent news—Yorinobu had been spotted at the Del Perro Pier. Without hesitation, Alexa grabbed her gear and headed out, armoured and ready for what she saw as a perfect opportunity. In her mind, this was her chance to prove to everyone that she was more than just a strategist behind a desk.
Upon arriving, she spotted Yorinobu casually mingling with locals. Moving quickly but carefully, she approached with her golden pistol drawn, keeping him in her sights. Yorinobu, sensing the danger closing in, attempted to engage her in conversation, slowly edging toward the pier’s railing to make an escape.
Alexa, seconds away from pulling the trigger, was abruptly mugged by a random pickpocket, momentarily losing her focus. The distraction gave Yorinobu just enough time to leap off the pier and into the water below.
Yorinobu swam towards a nearby jetski, started the engine and drove away to escape. Alexa, furious but undeterred, also a nearby jet ski and gave chase. After a long chase, a bullet struck Yorinobu right lung, causing him to lose control and fall into the water. When Yorinobu fell into the water, the locator beacon fell from the jetski, which Alexa saw and picked up. Alexa did not pay attention to the sinking Yorinobu, who Alexa thought was already dead by inhaling water and sinking.
With the locator beacon in hand, Alexa immediately set her sights on the submarine. Arriving stealthily by boat near Chumash, she infiltrated the Kosatka, dispatching the remaining Yakuza crew inside with brutal precision, executing a deadly Black Widow-style assault. Room by room, she eliminated anyone who stood in her way, moving swiftly and ruthlessly toward the lower decks.
Finally reaching the cells, Alexa found Marty—weak, severely underfed, and barely able to lift his head. His clothes hung off his skeletal frame, and his hair was long and unkempt. He could hardly respond to her presence.
Alexa wasted no time and called in her henchmen to airlift Marty out of the submarine and bring him back to her private agency for recovery. As Marty was being secured for transport to the helicopter, he mustered a faint smile and whispered, "I knew you were going to save me." Alexa smiled back at him, knowing she had just secured Marty's trust and loyalty forever. Marty spent the next one and a half week recovering under the care of Alexa’s personal physician. Once strong enough to leave, Marty was officially discharged and returned to his life in Los Santos.
One of his first stops was his bar in Pillbox Hill where his father was waiting for him. Sitting across from Giuseppe, Marty vented his frustrations—not in anger, but in disappointment—that Giuseppe hadn’t done more to save him. Giuseppe listened quietly and eventually told Marty that he had done the best he could under impossible circumstances. Despite the difficult conversation, father and son parted on good terms, with Giuseppe welcoming his son back into the world he had almost lost forever. A few days later, Giuseppe called Marty explaining that he needed help clearing out assets from Paleto Bay. When Marty asked why he was leaving, Giuseppe offered only a quiet response: "It’s time."
Giuseppe explained, in his usual straightforward tone, that his "obligations in Paleto Bay were finished." He gave no further detail, nor did he offer a reason for why he was leaving the town that had become his symbol of resurgence. But the message was clear: Giuseppe was moving on. Marty, still rebuilding his place within the Marcano legacy, didn’t hesitate. He agreed to help without question, sensing that Giuseppe’s quiet departure was part of a deeper personal decision—one shaped not by business or power, but by closure. Together, they coordinated the transport of crates, documents, and valuables under the radar. Marty, who had once been considered the family’s most volatile member, now acted as a stabilizing presence during the transition. As they worked, neither spoke of what came next—neither for Giuseppe, nor for Marty. Giuseppe’s departure from Paleto Bay marked the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new chapter, one where family, not territory, took precedence. Though he left the region behind, Giuseppe continued running Giuseppe & Co, shifting his focus entirely to bespoke operations outside Paleto. Before departing, he closed all remaining businesses in the area and gave his employees a generous one-time payment as a gesture of gratitude for their loyalty.
