In early 2024, fate dealt an unexpected card. While driving his RV through Del Perro, Marty spotted a familiar figure on the sidewalk—his father, Giuseppe Marcano, standing with a man Marty didn’t recognize at the time ([[Edward McHaggis]]). Surprised and unsure, Marty pulled over and approached them. Giuseppe, stunned to see his youngest son after years of silence, was overcome with emotion. Marty, ever casual, greeted him like it hadn’t been years.

After the initial shock wore off, Giuseppe invited Marty up to his apartment in the Del Perro Tower. The moment marked the beginning of Marty being slowly pulled back into his father's world. Inside the apartment, Giuseppe introduced him to Edward McHaggis, an old friend (who Giuseppe mentored in the [[Cosa Nostra]]) and powerful figure in the Los Santos criminal landscape.

What began as a personal reunion would soon evolve into something much deeper—a re-entry into the Marcano legacy, whether Marty was ready for it or not.

Shortly after the reunion, Giuseppe asked Edward if he could mentor Marty in the business. Edward, however, declined—unimpressed by Marty's past or attitude. Still wanting to give his son a path forward, Giuseppe and Edward quietly contacted [[Billy McBardigael]] behind Marty's back. Billy, who was in need of reliable hands for his growing construction and property management company, agreed to take Marty on.

The next morning at 06:00 sharp, Marty began his first day on-site, in the basement of a nightclub in Elysian Island. Though frustrated and demotivated at first, he begrudgingly followed orders. But over time, something unexpected happened: Marty grew genuinely interested in the work. The structure, discipline, and hands-on nature of construction appealed to him more than any classroom ever had. And more importantly, he found something in Billy that he hadn't found in Giuseppe—a rough-edged honesty.

Billy’s straightforward, no-nonsense personality resonated with Marty. The two formed a bond, and Marty gradually began to see Billy as the father figure he never quite had. He jokingly started calling him his “adopted father,” a nickname that stuck. Giuseppe, upon hearing this, was quietly furious. In private, he would later call it the biggest mistake he ever made—handing his son off to another man.

Not long after, Giuseppe made his move to take over [[Paleto Bay]] in his characteristic criminal fashion. With territory to claim and influence to assert, he called upon Marty to assist him in establishing the [[Marcano Crime Family|Marcano Mob]] in the northern town. Marty agreed and began working part-time for Billy while helping his father in Paleto Bay—a compromise Billy didn’t mind, trusting Marty to balance the work.

To support the move, Giuseppe provided Marty with a substantial amount of money to purchase a home in Paleto Bay. However, Giuseppe was disappointed to discover that Marty had used the funds to buy a two-story garage unit instead of a traditional house. Marty transformed the upper floor into a bar space, designed for biker parties. For Marty, it was a dream setup. For Giuseppe, it was yet another symbol of Marty’s failure to take things seriously.
