Giuseppe Carlo Antonio Marcano, more commonly known as Giuseppe Marcano, is one of the founders of the [[Marcano Crime Family]] and an active Board Member of the [[International Hitman Agency|IHA]]. Giuseppe also has an older brother named Giovanni ‘Gianni’ Marcano and a younger brother named [[Salvatore Marcano|Salvatore]]. Giuseppe was married to Connie Marcano, with whom he had three sons: Lorenzo, Angelo, and [[Marty Marcano]].

Giuseppe was born on December 7, 1968, in Gratteri, a small town on the island of Sicily in Italy. Giuseppe was known as a serious child who always valued loyalty and respect, unlike his brother Gianni. Giuseppe’s upbringing was difficult due to the family’s financial situation and their strong Christian values.

When Giuseppe was 10 years old, he befriended Paolo Collesano, who would become his best friend and partner in crime when Giuseppe moved with his family to the city of Palermo. Giuseppe completed high school at the age of sixteen but did not continue studying at the University of Palermo. He started working part-time at a local butcher shop four days a week. Struggling to make ends meet, he eventually turned to a life of crime, working as a driver for various mobsters in Palermo and delivering “packages.”

=== Corleonesi (1986–1993) ===
At 17 (in early 1986), Giuseppe and his brother Giovanni joined the [[Corleonesi]], the largest Mafia organization in Sicily at the time, led by [[wikipedia:Salvatore_Riina|Salvatore 'Totò' Riina]]. Giuseppe’s rise in the Corleonesi was quiet at first, but after the assassinations of Judge Antonino Saetta and his namesake, Mayor Giuseppe Insalaco of Palermo, in 1988, he was promoted to Soldier and became a made-man. Later that year, he also met his future wife Connie, whom he would marry three years later.

In 1990, Giuseppe became Capodecina (caporegime), gaining his own soldiers and associates, including his boyhood and best friend Paolo. He was mentored by Underboss Bernardo Provenzano, learning to be both ruthless and strategic. 

In May 1992, Giuseppe and Paolo were responsible for the assassination of Giovanni Falcone, his wife, and three police officers in what would become known as the [[wikipedia:Capaci_bombing|Capaci Bombing]].

In 1993, with the arrest of Don Salvatore 'Totò' Riina, the Corleonesi began to decline. As a result, Giuseppe decided to split off and start his own organization, known as the Marcano Crime Family, with Gianni as his consigliere and Paolo as his Underboss. Later that year, the Marcano Crime Family officially joined the [[Cosa Nostra]].

=== Rise of the Marcano Crime Family (1993–2001) ===
With the establishment of the Marcano Crime Family, Giuseppe wanted to take the Mafia in a new direction, focusing less on conflict with law enforcement and more into a background force and legitimate business. This also means Giuseppe slowly withdrew from the regular criminal businesses like drug production and other practices. He began investing in smaller villages around Palermo and in constructing a new casino in central Palermo in 1995 which was finished in mid-1996. With Giovanni personally running the casino, Giuseppe and the family became one of the wealthiest in Sicily. They continued to invest in legitimate businesses while dealing with any competition. Giuseppe also the founder of the Mario Marcano Foundation: a charity organisation who helps struggling family in Europe (especially Italy).

Unlike many mob bosses of the time, Giuseppe still managed to do fieldwork himself with a variety of tasks, including assassinations and extortions. This dedication led to an invitation in late 1996 to become a Special Agent of the International Hitman Agency (IHA), a global network of hitmen. That same year, Giuseppe’s first son, Lorenzo Marcano, was born, followed by Angelo two years later.

In February 2001, Giuseppe’s third son, Marty Marcano, was born. In the same year, the Marcano Crime Family gained notoriety for their role in Bernardo Provenzano’s arrest by providing his location to the authorities. Rumours also circulated that Giuseppe helped Silvio Berlusconi win the Italian general election in May 2001.

=== Giuseppe in Liberty City (2001–2002) ===
In June 2001, Giuseppe received a request for assistance from Don Salvatore Leone in Liberty City, as Leone’s control over the city was weakening due to the growing power of the Triads and the Yakuza. Giuseppe agreed and temporarily moved to Liberty City. However, Giuseppe’s actions were limited but effective, as he played a key role in weakening and eliminating the Forelli Family. After Don Leone was assassinated in October, Giuseppe took on an advisory role to Tony Leone, the new Don.

=== Giuseppe in the World (2002–2023) ===
In the criminal underworld, Giuseppe is known as an influential figure with significant power not only in Sicily but also in the USA. He has ties to crime families in multiple cities, including Liberty City, Vice City, Kansas City, and Saint Denis. Giuseppe is also a special member of the Commission, a governing body for the American Mafia.

In 2012, Giuseppe’s underboss learned of a Scottish man named [[Edward McHaggis]], who was an interesting prospect for the Marcano Mob. Giuseppe convinced about Edward requested his services in Italy and took Edward under his wing. Giuseppe and Edward became close friends and partook into multiple jobs in Italy abroad including dealing with competition and learning how modern mobsters operated. Two years later. Edward left to work for the Yakuza, disappointing Giuseppe.

Giuseppe is besides a mob boss a large real estate owner and property manager in Italy and owns properties in South America and Asia. In 2008, the Marcano Crime Family provided loans to several banks and business owners in Italy during the financial crisis securing the family’s wealth for future generations.

=== San Andreas (2024) ===
In early 2024, Giuseppe received a request from Edward to help him manage [[Paleto Bay]], a former crime town in the United States in the State of San Andreas that had been neutralized by [[Big Four|the Big Four]]. Giuseppe accepted and began operations there in mid-2024, expanding the local arcade and acting as a mediator for the Big Four. He attempted to introduce a new system valuing diplomacy and, to a lesser extent, independence, but this proposal was rejected, much to his disappointment. At some point, Giuseppe was arrested and deported back to Italy for not having a valid visa.

In October 2024, Giuseppe left again for Los Santos, leaving his eldest sons Lorenzo and Angelo with his brother Giovanni in charge of the Marcano Crime Family in Italy. He started a new freelance company called [[Giuseppe & Co]]., based in Rockford Hills, targeting high-profile clientele in need of problem-solving. However, after two weeks, Giuseppe was invited to return to the IHA as a board member, putting his new company on hold and leaving Los Santos for now.

=== Present ===
Currently, Giuseppe works the head of the Marcano Crime Family alongside his brother Gianni. With him settled back in Paleto Bay, he is a force to be reckoned with. Giuseppe’s favourite line is: “Marty, what the fuck!” Giuseppe is loosely based on Vito and Michael Corleone of the Godfather. Giuseppe enforced a pragmatic vision and that all the actions he commits are just “business”. Giuseppe is against killing innocents and people who are in difficult situations. Giuseppe is not a psychopath as he cares for his family and friends. He wants the best for his family, for example getting Salvatore Marcano of the bottle (alcohol problem) and wants a stable life for Marty. Giuseppe is a honourable man and gives good life advice to his friends and business partners.
